Material Supplier Databases
Material Supplier Databases give you the ability to display the properties of your materials, both simple and complex on the Global Data Center and your company web-site. You can store all your material data in one place, control access to it and get detailed sales information on who is interested in your specific materials.
The databases can store any type of property on any kind of material in TrueDigital format. Datasheets, MSDS, single point and complex curve data can be viewed and downloaded to Excel and CAE applications. The Material Supplier Database streamlines customer-facing technical support operations:
To make available properties of the your materials to prospective clients so that they can make favorable selection and design decisions by providing easily accessible and completely annotated (pedigreed) material data. Advertising can be purchased to promote your materials.
Technical Service Function
There is a steady demand for ‘high-value’ material properties for use in design and CAE: molding simulation data, high strain-rate tensile properties, creep, fatigue etc. Access to such data is currently controlled by the Technical Service Group and is stored separately and released selectively to prospective clients upon demand. Your Material Supplier Database can facilitate this process by also storing your private ‘high-value’ data. Each private dataset is placed under lock and key. Users can search your database and request access to private data. Your technical service personnel can respond to these requests and selectively release data to your clients on a case-by-case basis. Access to your data is tracked.
Since the material database tracks which user is accessing what data, this information is vital to your sales efforts, providing valuable advance knowledge of what materials are being contemplated by a user for their design application. Further, looking at the types of properties accessed gives information about the nature of the intended application allowing your sales staff to position other candidate materials and also internal experts who may aid in the positive outcome of the ‘inquiry’.
